Title: Wherever you are, I want you to know - Souhad Karam
Wherever you are now, and I always wonder where you might be, I want you to know that I have achieved a great part of what we dreamed of together for the children, and that we will never stop searching for you.
Of course, we pray that you are well, wherever you may be. We ask for your prayers too, because we are still suffering greatly on this earth. Waiting is all we know, and we will keep searching for you.
What should I tell you? Should I tell you that we’re now living in the 21st century? Should I tell you about the emergence of what's called the mobile phone and the internet? You and I would have argued so much over who knows more about the internet! Now the children teach me, just so I can keep up with them.
I've retired now. I worked hard so we could achieve part of our dreams. Now I have more time to spare, and I think about you more often, not because I wasn't thinking about you before, but because there were priorities: three children you left in my trust.
And now they've grown up and become men, and every time we come together, our hearts ache because you are not with us.
I hope you can see us.
